Cadillac’s arrival in Formula 1 has sparked a wave of anticipation. A new team, a new culture, new ambitions. And at the heart of that historic first day stood Valtteri Bottas, officially returning to the grid after closing his chapter as Mercedes’ reserve driver.
The Finn began his adaptation at Silverstone, opening a chapter that promises to blend experience, brand power, and a project built entirely from the ground up. A symbolic day, but also a decisive one.

Bottas’ first contact with Cadillac marked a defining moment for the project: his first seat fitting, initial technical meetings, and the chance to fully integrate with his new engineering group. As a cornerstone of the plan, he will partner Sergio Pérez, forming a lineup that combines experience, technical knowledge, and consistency.

For Bottas, the move carries both emotional and professional weight. He spoke openly about the moment: “I’m excited to finally start as a driver for the Cadillac Formula 1 Team. It’s a moment that fills me with pride because it marks a new chapter in my return to the grid with a team that is beginning its journey in the sport.”

The Finn emphasized that his role extends far beyond driving. “There’s a lot of work ahead, and I want to use my experience to help now that I’m fully integrated into the team,” he explained.
Inside the garage, the atmosphere felt different. For Bottas, seeing the early foundations of a brand-new team reinforced the emotional significance of the project: “Watching everything take shape for the first time is special, and it really makes you appreciate the momentum behind this project.”

Silverstone also marked a critical technical step forward: initial ergonomic adjustments, visibility checks, and simulator work, all vital for Cadillac’s preparation ahead of pre-season testing. Bottas himself underlined the importance of the process: “These moments are crucial to prepare properly. They are the first real steps toward being ready for the first test. I can’t wait for the season to start so I can go racing again.”

Behind the scenes, the early signs were encouraging: a cohesive new technical group, a structure driven by debut-season motivation, and an environment blending fresh energy with realistic ambition.
With the countdown to 2026 underway, Cadillac and Bottas are officially in motion.

The beginning was symbolic, but solid. Cadillac isn’t just adding a driver, but an experienced guide to navigate its first steps in Formula 1. And Bottas, refreshed and fully committed, reignites his career with the hunger of a true sporting rebirth.

The story is only just beginning.
