Kimi Antonelli became the youngest driver on the 2025 Formula 1 grid when he stepped up to partner George Russell at Mercedes. A standout from an early age, Antonelli dominated karting and junior single-seater categories, convincing Mercedes to sign him to their junior program in 2019.

His rapid progression continued with titles in both Italian F4 and ADAC F4 in 2022, followed by strong campaigns in Formula Regional Middle East and Europe. In 2024 he moved to Formula 2 with Prema alongside Oliver Bearman, making the rare jump straight from FRECA. Despite being one of the youngest drivers in the field, Antonelli delivered a solid rookie season, taking two victories and finishing sixth overall.

In hist first full year, Antonelli delivered impressive performances that earned him a podium in Canada and Brazil.
