Ferrari took its first on-track step toward the 2026 season on Friday as the new SF-26 completed its initial laps at the team’s private Fiorano circuit, located next to the Maranello headquarters.
Shortly after the car’s design was officially unveiled, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc took turns behind the wheel, giving Ferrari’s latest challenger its first dynamic running.
Classed as a demonstration day (a promotional run limited to basic system checks), Ferrari’s running was restricted to just 15 kilometres, resulting in only brief stints on track for the two drivers.
Even so, the sight of the SF-26 in motion was enough to ignite the passion of the Tifosi, who gathered around the circuit to witness the debut and show their support ahead of the team’s next outing.
Ferrari’s focus now turns to the Barcelona Shakedown, where the SF-26 will begin a more structured initial running programme as preparations for the 2026 campaign continue.
