Red Bull dominates season finale while McLaren celebrates historic milestone as Formula 1 concludes a thrilling year.
The final race of the season delivered an explosive conclusion for Formula 1. Max Verstappen claimed victory with a flawless performance, while Lando Norris secured his first drivers’ championship, marking a historic year for McLaren. Perfect strategy and raw pace defined a weekend that will be remembered for years.
Max Verstappen, defending champion, shone in every lap:
“I’m very proud of the whole team… This season was a rollercoaster with many challenges, but I’m proud of everyone.”
Meanwhile, Yuki Tsunoda had a tough weekend. A 5-second penalty for forcing Lando Norris off track impacted his race:
“I tried to hold Norris, but he was too fast. Then in the second stint, things got tricky. Still, I can look back knowing I gave it my all.”
Lando Norris, finally crowned champion, expressed his excitement after receiving the title:
“We did it, World Champion! This is for everyone who supported me: my family, my team, everyone at McLaren.”
Oscar Piastri, teammate and runner-up, acknowledged Verstappen’s superiority while celebrating McLaren’s historic achievement:
“Congratulations to Lando on the championship. We took strategic risks, it worked, but we didn’t have the pace to beat Max.”
Andrea Stella, team principal, highlighted an exceptional year:
“14 wins and 34 combined podiums show that McLaren has returned to F1’s elite. This is just the beginning.”
Young drivers like Oscar Piastri and Yuki Tsunoda demonstrate that the next generation is ready to compete at the highest level.
